Saturday Silence

Not much of news to give out as nothing new has happened. I still have yet to go for a run or do any physical activity, and i still feel as if i need to do something better with my time at night after work than just sitting around watching tv. Remember not to be too greedy, i've given out pretty big info so far and you shouldn't expect too much.


One of the reasons i started this blog was to share not only about my life but also about what i have learned. Its never much but its something. I very recently watched Modern marvels (put on by the history channel) and the episode i watched was about knives/cutting devices. pretty crazy, i know. something i did not know was that the katana (japanese sword) was perfected around 1000 years ago, and has continued to be crafted in the same matter since. It's blade is always curved as it becomes this way when making it. The blade starts out straight, they then spread some sort of soil on the back side of the blade as to keep this part of the metal from becoming too brittle/hard (as too avoid the blade shattering when striking something), then when the sharp side becomes heated the metal expands (the back side does not expand) and thus the blade becomes curved (if you don't get it, just think about it a bit longer...wait for it.......there you go).

I also learned this week while doing the daily crossword during lunch break, that a "talopy" is some kind of fish. Which is apparently not as uncommon as i thought it would be.

Other than that not much is changing. I am most likely only blogging right now because the mail is not here yet. Once it does and Super smash bros brawl drops in my mail, i'll be 24/7 on that madness (if you want in, just make an appointment, any day any time (except when i'm at work) and i'm in).

Also you may note that i've added some Last FM plugins to my page. You might think.."wow what inspired him to do that?". Well i'll tell you as i know you're dying to know. I have been a bit behind on my music so in the last few days i've been downloading and listening to much of what came out in the last quarter of '07 and then whats been released in '08 so far. The Last FM plugins are just so you can look at my last FM info and inspire yourself to also keep up on the music and not forget. I am ashamed to say that since beginning work last fall, i have fallen under the spell of so called "pop" music. Pop music has caused me to quit searching for music that is good, and give in to that which is catchy. Shame on my house, i know. But after getting back, and poping in a little vampire weekend, and some beirut, i have been cured. The amazing melodies and compositions offered by such great musicians has lifted the curse.

Thats about it for now. I will most likely be back next weekend, but no promises.

Long time no internet

Just as i was about to post last night what do you know, i lost my internet. Not that frustrating as i've been without it for a good week, and i've had to function off of bri's computer. But i just don't feel at home using a laptop and a mouse pad, clear to say i'm not a laptop person.

So here i am then.

Since the last post, i guess i last wrote about work (i think, i'm too lazy to go back and look). Not much has been going on. Work has calmed down. The two weeks of longer days are over and the workload was cut down by 85% of what it was at for these sites, which makes some people's days much easier.

In terms of me physically doing anything, i've been quite lazy, sitting around, and i think i'm hitting an all time record of number of days i've gone without working out. Quite sad, but at the moment i'm just not really feeling like i want to. In order to work out you have to go to a gym, you have to drive at least 5-10 minutes simply to work out for 30 minutes, and then drive back another 5-10 minutes. Not my idea of something i want to do. Bri continually pushes me to work out which is good, but i'm thinking my workouts will start with the new house.

Which brings me to the house which is unbelievable to me. Its a great house, much more than i thought i would own. I dont' really know what to say, but to put it simply, i am blessed. I've also noticed through this house experience, that all of those monumental moments that people say you have in your life, for example buying a house, never really seem monumental when they happen. For example, graduation from St. Olaf. Graduation was a big deal, yes, but did it seem that big of a deal at the time? No. With proper acceptance and thought, i always seem to prepare myself for these things, and thus they never really seem to become a big event. I'm not sure how i feel about this. I want things to be a big deal, it makes them, well, a bigger deal in my life, a more grandiose moment, but i am a very realistic person, and thus i come to accept things and come to conclusions pretty quickly. (i'm definetly not going to read back over this as i'm sure it will only confuse me, so if you're confused, deal with it)

It will not most likely be the same amount of time between my posts as it was this last time, but it very well could be. You never know. If you want consistency, read my mom's posts.

One last thing
Statement: i am looking at digital cameras, not sure if i'm going to buy, but there is that possibility. Currently the Casio EX-Z77SR, and i'm definetly needing a small camera, the smaller the better, as long as its in my price range.
Question: Any suggestions?
